2026 Commencement speakers announced

Carnegie Mellon University's 2026 commencement ceremony will take place on May 10. The event will feature keynote speaker Jensen Huang, CEO and co-founder of NVIDIA, who will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Science and Technology. Other honorary doctorate recipients include Jamie deRoy, a Carnegie Mellon alum who has produced over 100 shows on and off Broadway, and Thomas J. Sargent, a Nobel Prize-winning economist. Simi Olusola-Ajayi, a student in the human-computer interaction master's program, will serve as the student speaker. The 90-minute ceremony will begin at 10 a.m., and attendees must be seated by 9:15 a.m. Olusola-Ajayi plans to discuss responsible innovation and navigating uncertainty in her speech.
