President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s nomination as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 presidential election has received backing from local government leaders across Nigeria. Prince Adedayo Ladega, the executive chairman of Ikorodu Local Government in Lagos State, congratulated Tinubu, describing his victory as an endorsement of the president’s leadership and the ongoing reforms under the 'Renewed Hope' agenda. Ladega emphasized that Tinubu’s policies have strengthened public confidence in the government’s economic and institutional reforms, aiming to stabilize the economy and create opportunities nationwide. He reaffirmed Ikorodu’s commitment to supporting federal development initiatives aligned with Tinubu’s vision. In Abia State, the APC chapter also celebrated Tinubu’s resounding victory in the party’s presidential primaries held on May 23, 2026. According to reports, Tinubu secured 161,005 votes across 184 wards, defeating his sole rival, Stanley Osifo, who received just 1,007 votes. The party highlighted the peaceful conduct and high participation in the primaries as a testament to the trust and confidence in Tinubu’s leadership.
