Aduro Appoints Senior European Industrial Leader to Lead Delivery of FOAK Facility at Chemelot

Aduro Clean Technologies Inc., a company specializing in converting waste plastics, heavy bitumen, and renewable oils into valuable resources, has appointed Jan Lemmens as Project Director for its First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) industrial facility at the Chemelot Industrial Park in Sittard-Geleen, Netherlands. Lemmens will lead project development, engineering, and construction activities, transitioning the facility into its engineering, permitting, and construction-preparation phase. Lemmens brings over three decades of industrial leadership experience across European specialty materials, plastics, and chemical processing industries. His expertise includes site development, civil works, permitting, contractor coordination, and operational planning. He will also support coordination between the Netherlands-based team and Aduro’s Canadian engineering, operations, and logistics teams to align site execution with process requirements. In his career, Lemmens has held senior roles such as Director of Operations and Plant Manager at Sekisui S-Lec BV, General Manager at RPC BEBO NL, and Operations Director at Transilwrap Company, where he established the company’s first European manufacturing facility. He previously served as Group Engineering Manager at Rexam, leading major industrial investment projects in the United Kingdom. The appointment follows Aduro’s progress in advancing its FOAK facility, which aims to transform lower-value feedstocks into resources for the 21st century. Ofer Vicus, Aduro’s CEO, emphasized Lemmens’ practical experience in building and operating industrial facilities within the Chemelot environment, highlighting his understanding of safety, project discipline, and regional execution. Lemmens’ role will focus on establishing the project organization, execution framework, and operational readiness for the facility’s future operations.
