AI training in Uttar Pradesh urged by Yogi Adityanath, with NEP 2020 skills focus

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called on educators and institutions to prioritize training in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and space sciences during a Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad meeting. He emphasized the need for programs to align with the National Education Policy 2020, ensuring they are employment-focused and adaptable to modern economic demands. Adityanath directed that youth, particularly in eastern Uttar Pradesh, receive specialized training in advanced science fields through institutions like the Maharana Pratap Institute of Technology and the Centre of Excellence. He stressed the importance of continuous staff development to keep pace with evolving technological needs. The Chief Minister also highlighted the necessity of updating curricula to reflect current industry requirements, ensuring students are prepared for emerging challenges. He urged technical education to be strengthened across all campuses to foster a skilled workforce. In addition to education, Adityanath instructed institutions to accelerate efforts to empower farmers through Krishi Vigyan agro-science centers, offering advanced farming techniques for sustainable livelihoods. He also called for expanded healthcare services to reach underserved communities, linking these initiatives to broader social development goals. During the meeting, Adityanath announced plans for the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad’s centenary celebration in 2032, directing early preparation of detailed action plans. The institution, founded in 1932 by Mahant Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj, was urged to coordinate efforts to meet education, farmer support, and public health objectives by the milestone year.
