Aiyedatiwa approves appointment of new Ondo Head of Service

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has approved the appointment of Chief Segun Odusanya as the new Head of the Public Service of Ondo State, effective June 6, 2026. The appointment follows the retirement of Mr Bayo Phillips, who served in the role prior to Odusanya’s selection. Odusanya’s appointment was announced in a statement by Chief Press Secretary Ebenezer Adeniyan. The governor thanked Phillips for his contributions to the state’s development and expressed gratitude for his service. Aiyedatiwa also urged Odusanya to leverage his extensive experience to support the OUR EASE administration’s goals. Born on February 6, 1967, Odusanya attended St. Peter’s Primary School and Gboluji Anglican Grammar School before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1989. He later obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from the same institution in 1992 and an MBA from the University of Ado-Ekiti in 2000. Odusanya joined the Ondo State Public Service in September 1995 and has held various roles, including Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, Ondo State Civil Service Commission, Ministry of Transport, and currently in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. He also serves as Chairman of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries in Ondo State. The governor emphasized Odusanya’s wealth of experience, highlighting his long-standing service and leadership within the state’s civil service. The appointment aims to strengthen administrative efficiency under the OUR EASE administration.
