BMW Put Neue Klasse Tech In The 7 Series, And It’s Absurd In The Best Way

BMW has launched the most extensive update ever for its 7 Series, incorporating hardware and software from its Neue Klasse electric platform into gas, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric models. The lineup includes the i7 60 xDrive, which achieves over 720 km (447 mi) of range—nearly double the previous i7’s 310 mi—thanks to sixth-generation cylindrical battery cells. Alongside the electric variant, the 7 Series now offers the 740 xDrive (combustion), the M760e xDrive plug-in hybrid, and three M Performance models, covering all market segments. Autonomous driving features dominate the update, with BMW Symbiotic Drive using AI to adapt to driver preferences and optimize control. Motorway Assistant enables hands-free driving at up to 130 km/h (81 mph) on European highways, while City Assistant handles urban navigation with AI-assisted parking. Rear passengers benefit from a standard Passenger Screen and an optional 8K Theatre Screen for streaming, gaming, and video calls, extendable to the front display when stationary. Exterior design emphasizes luxury with a monolithic structure, BMW’s Iconic Glow kidney grille, and minimalist crystal headlights. Factory 22-inch wheels are now optional alongside standard 20-inch rims, and BMW Individual offers a first-of-its-kind Dual-Finish paint option blending two paint treatments for a unique look. For security-conscious buyers, the armored BMW 7 Series Protection returns with VR9 certification and optional VPAM 10 classification, the highest ballistic protection level. The vehicle is produced on a single line at Plant Dingolfing in Bavaria, uniting all variants under the Neue Klasse architecture for the first time.
