Cadillac Crosses 100,000 EV Sales As Tesla Owners Jump Ship

Cadillac has achieved a milestone by surpassing 100,000 electric vehicle sales in the United States less than four years after launching its first modern EV, the Lyriq. The brand’s rapid expansion now includes the Optiq, Vistiq, Escalade IQ, and the ultra-exclusive Celestiq, covering nearly every luxury EV segment. The Lyriq remains Cadillac’s best-selling EV, combining luxury styling, long-range capability, and practicality to establish the brand in the premium market. Unlike some competitors, Cadillac retained features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the Lyriq, which helped maintain customer satisfaction and momentum. About 75% of Cadillac EV buyers are new to the brand, with many trading in vehicles from Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, and Lexus. This shift reflects Cadillac’s success in attracting younger, tech-focused luxury buyers who previously overlooked the brand. Cadillac’s EV lineup now includes the compact Optiq, three-row Vistiq, large Escalade IQ, and the hand-built Celestiq, a limited-production ultra-luxury sedan. The broad range allows Cadillac to compete across multiple segments rather than relying on a single model. Duncan Aldred, Cadillac executive, credited the milestone to coordinated efforts across engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and dealer operations. The brand has also earned industry awards and positive reviews from outlets like MotorTrend and J.D. Power, reinforcing its growing reputation in the luxury EV market.
