Chakaruna Drag Operetta Presents, ”gawdland: I Belong.” Drag Dream — the Journey of Gawdland

Chakaruna, a Bangkok-based cultural collective, will debut *GAWDLAND: I BELONG*, a drag operetta marking the return of Gawdland (Thai drag artist Tharathep Thaweephon) to her hometown. The event, scheduled for May 30, 2026, at Sphere Hall in Emsphere, is an official partner of Bangkok Pride Festival 2026 and centers on the theme of belonging as a fundamental right. Gawdland rose to global fame after winning *RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs The World Series 3* in March 2026, becoming the first Asian contestant to claim an international *Drag Race* title. The show blends pop musical, drag operetta, and storytelling to retrace her journey—from performing in Bangkok’s House of Heals at 20 years old to standing on international stages. It highlights struggles, triumphs, and the cultural pride that shaped her identity.
