Chef Robotics, a leader in physical AI for the food industry, has announced that its robots can now automate tray assembly for baked goods packing. The application places baked products into trays and packaging containers before sealing. Chef built its baked goods packing application on its existing piece-picking capability, using AI-powered computer vision and physical AI models. The application supports four distinct placement capabilities, including reorienting items to the exact angle required and placing multiple items into the same packaging container. The capability is available in the U.S., Canada, Germany, and the UK as part of Chef's robotics-as-a-service pricing model. It offers higher throughput, reduced labor dependency, and consistent presentation across shifts for food manufacturers.
