Chicago Bears' most underrated draft pick could follow in the footsteps of 2025's surprise star Kyle Monangai

The Chicago Bears traded up to the 213th overall pick in the sixth-round of the 2026 NFL Draft to select Georgia Tech defensive tackle Jordan van den Berg. Van den Berg is a freak athlete with a 10.00 RAS score, ranking second out of 2,278 defensive tackles since 1987. He had 67 tackles, 16.0 tackles for a loss, and 4.0 sacks in two seasons at Georgia Tech and posted a 4.94 40-yard-dash at his Pro Day. The Bears are hoping van den Berg can carve out a role for himself on the defensive line, competing against veteran interior players like Grady Jarrett. Van den Berg will have the opportunity to learn from Jarrett, whom he has admired since his time at Georgia Tech. The Bears' scouting process for van den Berg was similar to that of Kyle Monangai, a seventh-round pick in 2025 who became a surprise star.
