Etihad, Condor seal strategic partnership deal for new Bangkok service

Etihad Airways and Condor have formalized a strategic partnership at the IATA AGM in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to introduce a new Condor service from Abu Dhabi to Bangkok. This marks the third route in Condor’s planned Abu Dhabi operation, following upcoming daily flights from Frankfurt and Berlin, and strengthens connectivity between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The agreement includes a frequent flyer program integration, enabling Etihad Guest members to redeem miles on Condor-operated flights to destinations across Europe, North America, the Caribbean, and beyond. This builds on an existing codeshare agreement and expands cooperation in network connectivity, loyalty programs, and commercial initiatives. Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, stated the partnership delivers value for both airlines and passengers while supporting Abu Dhabi’s tourism growth. Jens Boyd, Condor’s Commercial Director, highlighted the expanded travel options for guests between Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Australia. The collaboration combines Condor’s leisure travel expertise with Etihad’s global network, offering seamless travel experiences. Upcoming services from Frankfurt, Berlin, and Bangkok will provide travelers with access to Etihad’s extensive routes, including destinations like Zanzibar and Salalah. The loyalty agreement further strengthens the partnership, giving Etihad Guest members broader destination access and reinforcing future cooperation. Both airlines aim to enhance connectivity and economic growth in Abu Dhabi through this strategic alliance.
