John Labrador, 24, from Barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City, emerged as the topnotcher in the April 2026 Registered Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination with a 94.25% rating. He finished his degree at the University of the Philippines Diliman as summa cum laude. Labrador credited his success to dedication, continuous learning, and support from family, partner, and mentors. He battled self-doubt during his review period but eventually developed a firm belief in achieving his goal. Labrador's review period was marked by uncertainty and exhaustion, including enrolling in two review centers simultaneously.
