Fears grow in Government over further tech job losses

Ireland’s government is bracing for additional tech job losses following Meta’s unexpected announcement of up to 350 layoffs in its Irish workforce, exceeding initial forecasts of a 10% cut. Industry sources privately warned officials that AI adoption could eliminate as many as 80% of global tech jobs over the next decade, placing Ireland at higher risk due to its concentration of major tech operations.
