GameExpo boosts UAE gaming and creative sector

Dubai’s GameExpo is showcasing the United Arab Emirates’ growing gaming and creative sectors, with a strong emphasis on local talent and small businesses. Organized by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, the event features The Narrows, a curated space backed by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, hosting over 75 SMEs selling limited-edition merchandise, artwork, and collectibles. Adam Long, owner of Dubai Sound Academy, noted the platform provides exposure for creatives and students, blending gaming with music to create an engaging atmosphere. This marks the academy’s first participation, with attendees showing strong engagement. The event supports Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, which aims to make the city a global innovation hub. Shaima Rashed Al Suwaidi, CEO of the Arts, Design and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, said GameExpo strengthens cultural industries by connecting talent with professionals and expanding market opportunities. Visitors can explore The Narrows alongside gaming, cosplay, esports, and immersive entertainment across 10 zones. Tickets start at AED 29, with Platinum List holders eligible for a Jetour T2 Luxury Plus prize. Free parking is available for up to six hours at designated locations. The Dubai Esports & Games Festival is presented by du, with partnerships from Amazon, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Jetour UAE, and talabat. The event runs through Sunday, offering live tournaments and immersive experiences.
