HCSO investigating Klein HS head football coach for alleged inappropriate relationship with Tomball HS student years ago

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit is investigating Nick Codutti, the current head football coach at Klein High School, over allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a former Tomball High School student. The incident reportedly occurred between 2016 and 2020, when Codutti served as an assistant coach at Tomball High School. The investigation was triggered by a report made earlier this month through Child Protective Services. Tomball ISD confirmed it was notified of the law enforcement inquiry on Monday and stated it is fully cooperating with authorities. The district emphasized that no prior complaints or reports of misconduct involving Codutti were ever made during his employment there. Codutti previously worked as head football coach at Fulshear High School from 2021 to 2025 under Lamar CISD, which also released a statement denying any evidence of misconduct during his time there. Klein ISD directed Codutti to ‘step away from campus’ after the investigation became public. The sheriff’s office stressed the investigation is in its early stages, with no charges filed at this time. Authorities urged anyone with information about potential sexual abuse to come forward. State records currently show no active investigation involving Codutti, though the Texas Education Agency has been contacted for further details.
