Interview with Sarah Lageson

Dr. Sarah Lageson is an Associate Professor at Northeastern University with a joint appointment in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice and Law. She pursued a law degree after her PhD to better understand the law and its operation in people's lives. Lageson's research focuses on the intersection of sociology and law, particularly in the area of criminal record expungements. She believes that her law degree has been instrumental in informing her teaching and research, allowing her to demystify the law for her social science students and provide a more nuanced understanding of the legal system. Lageson's work also involves co-hosting a podcast called 'Give Methods a Chance.' Her experience as a law student and her clinical work have been valuable in helping her understand the procedure and substance of the law.
