She shared the photo on Facebook, along with a post from someone named Roberto who had shared it with the commentary that Meloni should be “ashamed” of herself. Meloni warned that deepfakes are a dangerous tool that can deceive and manipulate anyone. She acknowledged that the photo manipulation made her look better but emphasized that people will use anything to attack and fabricate lies. The incident has raised concerns about the misuse of artificial intelligence-created images. Meloni is Italy's first female premier.
