Jazeera Airways Operates First Direct Flight from Kuwait to Milan Bergamo Airport

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier, inaugurated its first direct flight from Kuwait International Airport to Milan Bergamo Airport, marking the airline’s newest European destination and its first-ever connection to Italy. The inaugural flight departed from Terminal 5 (T5) in Kuwait City and was attended by Lorenzo Morini, Ambassador of Italy to Kuwait, who emphasized the new route’s role in reinforcing economic and cultural ties between the two nations. The service will operate three times weekly—Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—providing travelers with greater flexibility for business trips and holidays. Barathan Pasupathi, Jazeera Airways’ CEO, stated the launch reflects growing demand for direct Kuwait-Europe connectivity and positions Bergamo as a gateway for further expansion. The airline currently serves 34 destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe, with plans to offer over 60 destinations and 2 million seats by summer 2026. Passengers can book flights via the Jazeera Airways website (jazeeraairways.com), mobile app, or customer service at 177. The airline operates a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft, including the A320neo, and features leather seats and two-class cabins. This expansion follows a period of suspended operations at Kuwait International Airport due to geopolitical crises. The new route aims to boost tourism, with Morini noting Kuwait’s appeal to Italian visitors and Bergamo’s rich traditions for Kuwaiti travelers. Jazeera Airways, established in 2004 as the Middle East’s first private airline, continues to prioritize global connectivity and passenger convenience.
