JoSAA Counselling 2026 Registration Begins Tomorrow; Choice Filling Opens for JEE Advanced Qualified Candidates

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has opened registration for its 2026 counselling process for admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes, starting June 2 at 5 PM on the official JoSAA portal. Eligible candidates who qualified in JEE Advanced 2026 can now register and submit their preferred institutes and programmes, including 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and 40 Other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). The counselling process will span five regular seat-allocation rounds, with an additional round exclusively for IITs and NIT+ institutions. Candidates who qualified in the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2026 can submit preferences for architecture programmes starting June 7. Seat allocation will depend on candidates' ranks, category, eligibility, and submitted choices. To assist candidates, JoSAA will release a mock seat-allocation result on June 7 at 8 PM, based on choices filled by the deadline. This will allow candidates to review and modify their preferences before final rounds. The admission process follows the declaration of JEE Advanced 2026 results and marks the next phase for securing seats in premier technical institutions across India. The participating institutes include 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur, ensuring a wide range of options for qualified candidates. The counselling process aims to streamline admissions while providing transparency through mock allocations and structured rounds.
