Major terror module linked to Dawood and ISI busted in Delhi; 9 arrested

Delhi Police’s Special Cell arrested nine individuals on Saturday as part of a major terror module allegedly linked to Dawood Ibrahim’s network and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The suspects, including individuals of Nepali origin, were planning attacks on critical installations, security personnel, and religious sites in the national capital. Police recovered a significant cache of arms, hand grenades, and explosive materials during the operation. Investigations indicate the module was developed over an extended period by Pakistan’s intelligence establishment to execute terror attacks in Delhi. The operation coincides with the recent arrest of Dawood Ibrahim’s high-ranking associate, Salim Dola, who was apprehended in Istanbul on May 8 and deported to India. Dola, absconding since 2020, was linked to a 2023 drug trafficking case involving over 126 kilograms of mephedrone and ₹25.22 lakh in cash. His detention is expected to provide insights into Dawood’s global narcotics network, cross-border drug routes, and sleeper cells in Mumbai. Authorities are closely monitoring the involvement of local accomplices and handlers connected to the terror plot. The Delhi Police Special Cell has launched a detailed investigation to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy and prevent further threats to national security.
