Manulife Hong Kong has been selected as a Core Participating Insurer in the Insurance Authority’s AI Cohort Programme, reinforcing its focus on AI innovation in the insurance sector. The programme encourages collaboration among insurers and tech partners to advance AI adoption responsibly, with Manulife contributing to AI Centres of Excellence, talent development, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. As part of the programme, Manulife will integrate AI across its operations, including a 24/7 bilingual AI customer assistant, AI-powered sales tools for agents, and AI-driven underwriting support. The company also announced a strategic partnership with Alibaba Cloud to establish a joint AI hub, accelerating the development of new AI applications while maintaining robust governance for security and compliance. Patrick Graham, CEO of Manulife Hong Kong and Macau, stated that AI is transforming the insurance industry, enabling better customer service and operational efficiency.
