Mother-in-law of slain beauty queen arrested after international manhunt

Mexican authorities announced the arrest of Erika María, suspected of killing former beauty queen Carolina Flores Gómez. Flores Gómez was fatally shot on April 15 in her Mexico City apartment. Video evidence showed María at the scene, and a baby monitor captured the moments leading up to the alleged killing. María was captured in Venezuela after Mexican authorities obtained an arrest warrant and worked with Interpol to issue a Red Notice. The victim's son, Alejandro, is also under investigation for potentially covering up the crime. The Mexico City Attorney General's Office is working to extradite María to Mexico.
