NVIDIA, Foxconn, and Taiwan Medical Centers bring agentic and physical AI to ‘Healthy Taiwan’

NVIDIA announced a partnership with Foxconn and Taiwan’s leading medical centers to deploy AI-powered agent workforces under the government’s 'Healthy Taiwan' initiative, a $1.5 billion effort to create an AI-native health system. The project aims to address Taiwan’s aging population and clinical workforce shortages by using specialized AI agents for complex healthcare tasks. Agentic AI combines digital and physical agents to enhance clinical workflows. Digital agents handle tasks like clinical reasoning, documentation, and care coordination, while physical agents—including robots and intelligent devices—manage logistics, monitoring, and procedural support. Foxconn’s CoDoctor platform integrates AI agents for cardiovascular care, oncology, ophthalmology, and other specialties, reducing workflow times significantly. Key AI agents include the ECG AI Agent for EKG screening, the Corovia AI Agent for 3D heart reconstruction, and the Endovia AI Agent for real-time colonoscopy lesion detection. These tools leverage NVIDIA’s Nemotron open models and NemoClaw, an open-source framework for deploying autonomous agents, ensuring scalability and privacy. Foxconn’s CoDoClaw system coordinates multiple AI agents—such as those for breast cancer screening, ECG analysis, and coronary artery imaging—through a unified clinical interface. The agents are being deployed across Taiwan’s major medical centers to improve diagnostics, surgical planning, and real-time procedural support. The initiative positions Taiwan as a global model for AI-driven healthcare, with NVIDIA’s infrastructure enabling clinical teams to operate more efficiently. The collaboration aims to set a precedent for health systems worldwide, combining digital and physical AI to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
