Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, part of IHH Healthcare, has launched the Varian Ethos with HyperSight, an AI-driven adaptive radiotherapy system designed to refine cancer treatment plans daily. The technology detects changes in a patient’s anatomy, tumor size, or organ movement in real time, ensuring radiation targets tumors more accurately while sparing healthy tissue. The system represents a new generation of radiotherapy, enabling clinicians to personalize treatment based on daily anatomical shifts, particularly for cancers near critical organs. This approach reduces unnecessary exposure to healthy tissue and improves precision, comfort, and efficiency for patients. Since 2023, Pantai Hospital has collaborated with public healthcare providers to offer free radiotherapy and radiosurgery services, easing the burden on Malaysia’s national healthcare system. The hospital’s Cancer Centre now integrates this advanced technology to support public-sector patients while maintaining high standards of care. The launch aligns with Malaysia’s efforts to expand access to specialized cancer treatment, combining private healthcare capacity with public-sector needs.
