Qatar Foundation launches accreditation framework for Rasekh initiative

Qatar Foundation (QF) officially launched the Rasekh accreditation framework on August 2024, designed to help international schools merge global academic excellence with cultural rootedness. The initiative, developed by QF’s Pre-University Education, supports schools in promoting the Arabic language and reinforcing national identity within their curricula. The launch event, held at Education City Student Center, introduced the first cohort of seven schools: Al Maha Academy for Boys and Girls, Al Jazeera Academy, Arab International Academy in Doha and Lusail, Amman Baccalaureate School (Jordan), and Houssam Eddine Hariri High School (Lebanon). The Rasekh framework evaluates schools based on measurable standards, including institutional commitment, self-assessment, and external review, with accredited schools receiving a certificate, quality mark, and network membership. QF’s Vice President of Strategic Educational Initiatives, Sheikha Noof Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, emphasized that the initiative broadens educational quality beyond academics to foster student confidence in their identity and cultural connection. The accreditation process involves five stages: application, self-assessment, external evaluation, accreditation, and periodic reviews for continuous improvement. Schools meeting the criteria will benefit from professional support and resources to enhance educational quality and student outcomes. QF’s Chief Executive Officer, Yousif Al-Naama, attended the event alongside private school leaders and education partners, highlighting the framework’s role in shaping Qatar’s international education landscape. The initiative aligns with QF’s vision of creating a balanced educational model that prepares students to engage globally while staying connected to their heritage.
