Roger Williams University Welcomes Dr. Brian G. Williams as Interim President

Roger Williams University announced the appointment of Dr. Brian G. Williams as its Interim President, replacing Ioannis N. Miaoulis, who is retiring after seven years. Williams, who holds a Doctor of Management from Case Western Reserve University and extensive experience in enrollment management and university administration, will lead the institution through the upcoming academic year. His prior roles at RWU include Vice President of Enrollment Management & Marketing and Chief of Staff. Williams brings a student-centered leadership approach, emphasizing academic excellence, community engagement, and institutional stability. He plans to launch a university-wide listening initiative to gather input from faculty, staff, students, and alumni, fostering collaboration across the RWU community. His expertise spans strategic planning, enrollment management, and community relations, with a focus on enhancing student outcomes. Roger Williams University, ranked No. 35 among Best Regional Universities in the North by U.S. News & World Report, offers programs in marine science, law, and the designed and built environments. The university operates campuses in Bristol and Providence, Rhode Island, with a mission centered on experiential learning and social justice.
