Saudi Arabia’s Flyadeal to launch daily Riyadh-Hyderabad flights from July 1

Saudi Arabia’s budget airline Flyadeal will begin daily flights between Riyadh and Hyderabad starting July 1, marking its first regular service to India. The airline, a subsidiary of national carrier Saudia, focuses on affordable regional and international travel, currently serving destinations in West Asia, North Africa, and parts of South Asia. Hyderabad will be Flyadeal’s inaugural Indian destination, with plans to introduce additional routes soon. The new service aims to cater to a large Indian expatriate population in Saudi Arabia, particularly workers and families from Telangana and neighboring states. This expansion aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy under Vision 2030 to diversify tourism and economic ties with India. The launch comes as Gulf carriers increase capacity in the Indian aviation market, driven by strong demand for business travel, tourism, and religious pilgrimages. Flyadeal’s entry will intensify competition in the low-cost international segment, currently led by airlines such as IndiGo, Air India Express, and Flynas. Saudi Arabia has been rapidly strengthening aviation connections with India, reflecting growing bilateral trade and passenger traffic. The Riyadh-Hyderabad route is expected to further facilitate labor migration, Umrah travel, and economic exchanges between the two nations. Flyadeal’s expansion underscores the shifting dynamics in global air travel, particularly as operational disruptions impact major carriers like Air India. The airline’s focus on affordability aligns with rising demand for cost-effective international travel options.
