SL Embassy-VJSC host tourism promotion event in Ho Chi Minh City

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Vietnam and VJSC Co., Ltd organized a tourism promotion event titled *Unlocking Sri Lanka’s Tourism Potential* in Ho Chi Minh City on June 8, 2026. The event aimed to position Sri Lanka as a top travel destination for Vietnamese tourists and strengthen bilateral tourism ties. Ambassador Poshitha Perera highlighted Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage and tourism potential, while VJSC Director Nguyen Tien Bach introduced tailored travel packages for Vietnamese visitors. The event featured an interactive discussion with Pham Hoang Hung of Vietravel and travel blogger Le Viet Vinh (Vinh Gau), focusing on Sri Lanka’s appeal and travel trends. VietJet Air’s International Sales Director Nguyen Chi Duc announced the airline’s upcoming Ho Chi Minh City–Colombo route, set to launch August 18, 2026, with Vietnam Airlines expected to follow later in the year. Over 60 travel companies and Sri Lankan tourism representatives attended, including Mahen Kariyawasan of Andrews Travel Company and Chamil Udawatte of Hayleys Travels. Attendees received promotional gift packs from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, including Ceylon Tea and other materials showcasing tourism offerings. The Embassy of Sri Lanka reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with Vietnamese airlines and travel partners to boost tourism exchanges and economic cooperation. The event underscored efforts to enhance people-to-people connectivity between the two countries through travel and cultural engagement.
