Solve Nigeria’s Insecurity Or Resign – Popular Prophet Tells Tinubu

Prophet Isa El-Buba, founder of Evangelical Biblical Outreach Ministries International (EBOMI), called on President Bola Tinubu to resign if he cannot resolve Nigeria’s escalating insecurity crisis. Speaking in Jos during a three-day national mourning and prayer period declared by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for 'Black Sunday,' El-Buba emphasized that security must take precedence over politics and elections, warning that no election would be held in 2027 unless the government guarantees safety. The cleric stressed that the president’s primary duty is protecting lives and property, not political maneuvering. He urged Tinubu to step down if he fails to secure the release of captives held by criminal groups, stating, 'If you will not get our children out of the forest, resign from your position.' El-Buba addressed hundreds of worshippers in black attire, declaring that democracy must prioritize security, justice, and equal opportunity for all Nigerians. He condemned the loss of innocent lives due to kidnappings, banditry, and criminal activities, calling on all levels of government and security agencies to dismantle criminal networks and restore public confidence. El-Buba also highlighted moral and spiritual decay, including corruption and abuse of power, as contributing factors to Nigeria’s instability, urging a national moral reawakening. The Christian Association of Nigeria organized the mourning period to draw attention to the crisis, with El-Buba reinforcing that the bloodshed must end. He appealed to political leaders, religious groups, and citizens to unite in demanding peace, stating that every life matters and security must be prioritized over elections or personal interests.
