Sony PlayStation Plus gets price hike in India, check new prices here

Sony has raised PlayStation Plus subscription prices in India across all membership tiers—Essential, Extra, and Deluxe—citing ongoing market conditions. New subscribers will immediately pay the updated rates, while existing users retain their current pricing until their next billing cycle on or after July 19. The Essential plan now costs Rs 649 for one month (up from Rs 499), Rs 1,559 for three months (up from Rs 1,199), and Rs 5,139 annually (up from Rs 3,949). The Extra tier starts at Rs 979 monthly (up from Rs 749), Rs 2,599 for three months, and Rs 8,709 yearly. The Deluxe membership is Rs 1,109 monthly, Rs 2,989 for three months, and Rs 9,879 annually (previously Rs 7,599 for the yearly plan). Existing subscribers will only see the new prices if their subscription renews after July 19. However, any changes made before that date—such as upgrading or extending—will apply the revised pricing immediately. Sony previously adjusted PlayStation Plus prices in select global markets last week for similar reasons. The company notified existing users via email about the changes, emphasizing that current subscribers are protected until their next billing cycle. The price hike reflects broader adjustments in Sony’s gaming subscription strategy amid evolving market dynamics.
