Statistics students apply math to their world

Creston High School statistics students worked on a yearlong project, collecting and analyzing data on topics they chose. Students presented their findings in the high school gym, using graphs and statistical methods to support their conclusions. Senior Liberty Cordell analyzed her sleep disorder, obstructive sleep apnea, and found no correlation between sleep hours and quality. Other students, like Hollynn Rieck and Jaycee Hanson, analyzed sales data from their family businesses. The project was part of their high school education and college credit, guided by upper-level math teacher Ellie Soosloff. Students chose topics personally connected to them, making the project more engaging and meaningful.
