Taiwan business group urges Beijing, Taipei to keep politics out of trade

Taiwan's top business group has urged Beijing and Taipei to separate politics from trade and tourism exchanges. The group's chairman, Paul Hsu, emphasized the need for systematic and normalized exchanges to maintain long-term stability. Hsu also called on China to offer equal treatment to different regions in Taiwan, regardless of the ruling party. Taiwan's government has said it will address industry demands but warned against being manipulated by China. The issue is significant ahead of Taiwan's local elections in November and the presidential vote in 2028.
