TCS sharpens AI focus, aims to become world’s largest AI-led tech services company

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is accelerating its AI-driven transformation, positioning itself as a full-stack AI solutions provider. Chairman N. Chandrasekaran stated the company generated $2.3 billion from AI services in FY26, with plans to expand AI infrastructure capabilities further. TCS also scaled its ‘Human + AI’ operating model and industry-specific agent marketplace, reflecting a broader shift toward integrating AI into core business operations. The company reported total revenue of $30 billion for FY26, securing $40.7 billion in contract wins. TCS expanded into data centers and acquired firms to strengthen AI infrastructure, launching ‘HyperVault,’ an AI platform developed with TPG. Chandrasekaran noted India’s emerging role as a strategic destination for AI infrastructure amid global constraints on power and computing capacity. TCS is building India’s first AI-focused high-density data center, with rack density exceeding 160 KW. CEO K. Krithivasan called FY27 a pivotal year, targeting the title of the world’s largest AI-led technology services company. The company plans to develop industry-specific AI systems, enhance AI infrastructure through partnerships, and build secure sovereign AI capabilities. Chandrasekaran highlighted that enterprises are moving from AI pilot projects to large-scale deployment, embedding AI into supply chains and decision-making. TCS’s new-age services—cloud, data, cybersecurity, and enterprise solutions—contributed $11.5 billion in annualized revenue, reinforcing its focus on AI as the ‘infrastructure of intelligence’ for businesses.
