Tinubu Appoints Dr. Fatima Suleiman Zuntu as DG of National Biosafety Management Agency

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Fatima Suleiman Zuntu as the new Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA). Dr. Zuntu has a strong background in medicine and public health, graduating from the University of Maiduguri and earning an MSc from the University of South Wales. She has worked as a Health, Nutrition & Population Consultant at the World Bank Group and held various medical roles in Nigeria. Dr. Zuntu is expected to strengthen the NBMA's mandate in regulating modern biotechnology and ensuring biosafety in Nigeria. Her appointment is seen as a boost to the agency's efforts in managing biosafety. Dr. Zuntu holds multiple advanced certifications and is a Fellow of the West African Institute of Public Health.
