West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari meets President Murmu, PM Modi, Amit Shah in Delhi

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan during his first official visit to Delhi after taking oath on May 9. The meeting followed discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to West Bengal’s progress under the vision of *Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas*. Adhikari expressed gratitude for central support to accelerate economic growth, industrial revival, and youth empowerment in the state. Adhikari described the meeting with Modi as an honor and emphasized the need to rescue West Bengal from years of stagnation. He stated that with central assistance and public trust, the state would pursue *double-engine growth*, transparent governance, and holistic development. His remarks concluded with patriotic slogans, *Jai Hind* and *Vande Mataram*. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also met Adhikari in Delhi, extending best wishes for his new role. Shah’s post on X highlighted the BJP’s victory in the 2026 Assembly elections, where the party won 207 of 294 seats—a significant shift from the previous 77 seats. The Trinamool Congress (TMC), which had held 212 seats in the last polls, secured only 80 seats this time. Adhikari’s oath as West Bengal’s ninth chief minister marked the end of the TMC’s decade-long rule. The BJP’s landslide victory has positioned the state for potential policy changes, with Adhikari now leading efforts to align West Bengal’s development with national priorities under Modi’s leadership.
