Winthrop University expanding with Fort Mill campus

Winthrop University is creating a campus in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The campus will be located in an existing building on North White Street across from Town Hall. It will serve the educational needs of Fort Mill residents from early childhood through adult professional development. The campus will operate through three distinct programs: Launchpad, an early childhood laboratory school; Ascend, a dual enrollment academy for high school students; and Altitude, offering advanced and continuing education for adult learners and regional employers. The town and university will work together to advance the planning and development of the new campus. The partnership is expected to have a significant impact on the town, with Winthrop's estimated $200 million annual economic impact positioning the university as an ideal long-term partner for Fort Mill's continued growth.
