ZEISS Medical Technology and Aier Eye Hospital Group Sign Strategic Agreement for 25 VISUMAX 800 Units

ZEISS Medical Technology and Aier Eye Hospital Group have signed a strategic agreement to deploy 25 ZEISS VISUMAX 800 units, reinforcing their long-standing partnership. The collaboration will expand into AI-assisted diagnostics, digital workflows, and global expansion, according to Martin Fischer, President & CEO of ZEISS Greater China. Aier Eye Hospital will become the largest global user of VISUMAX 800 systems, while also maintaining its lead in ZEISS SMILE pro-certified surgeons and KLEx procedures in China. The agreement highlights Aier’s global leadership in three areas: equipment scale, talent development, and clinical practice. Mr. Li Li, Co-Founder and Global President of Aier Eye Hospital Group, stated the partnership will elevate surgical efficiency and patient satisfaction, setting new standards in refractive surgery. ZEISS recognized Aier’s achievements with a 'Top Three' honorary plaque at the signing ceremony. ZEISS Medical Technology, headquartered in Jena, Germany, specializes in medical imaging and microsurgery solutions. The company reported €2.228 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2024/25, with over half of its 5,784 employees based in the USA, Japan, Spain, and France. The agreement aligns with ZEISS’s global patient care strategy, leveraging Aier’s expertise in clinical management and digital applications. The VISUMAX 800 systems will enhance Aier’s ability to deliver high-quality refractive surgery, while the partnership will explore integrated digital platforms and AI tools. Aier’s dominance in ZEISS SMILE pro-certified surgeons and KLEx procedures in China underscores its technical and clinical leadership in the field. The collaboration marks a deepening of ties beyond equipment procurement, focusing on innovation and shared growth.
